By Grace Performance Studio offers the opportunity for our tumblers/acrobats ages 4 and up to compete in the M.A.T.S. (Mid-America Tumbling Society) Meets. Students must be enrolled in M.A.T.S. practice and at least one other acrobat class to compete.
There will be two regular meets and one championship meet this year. The regular meets are tentatively scheduled for November 13, 2011 and February 5, 2012. The championship meet is scheduled for February 26, 2012. All meets are held at Basehor-Linwood High School in Basehor, Kansas (about 1 ½ hours from Clinton). Students will learn and compete a routine based on their age division and skill level. Students will learn these routines during M.A.T.S. practice.
At the meets, the students are divided into groups of 15 or less. The top 6 students of each group are awarded ribbons. If the student places first through seventh, they are automatically eligible for the championship meet. You must qualify to attend the championship meet.
Judging at the meet is as follows: There are 4 form judges. Their scores are added together, the high and low scores are thrown out. Scoring is done by taking off fault points so the child can look at their score with their coach to see where improvement is needed. The lowest scores win.

M.A.T.S. Meet, Sunday, November 13th
The By Grace M.A.T.S. Team from By Grace Performance Studio traveled to Basehor-Linwood High School and competed in the Mid-America Tumbling Society Meet on Sunday, November 13th. Students competed with routines based upon their individual skill level and age. Hailey Davis placed 6th in the A-2 Division and qualified for the Championship Meet in this division. Natalie Wagoner placed 8th in the A-2 division. Audrey Higgins also competed in the A-2 division and Emma Meloy competed in the E-1 division. Team member Riley Bradley did not compete. The team will have another chance to qualify for the finals at the next regular meet in February.

Five students competed with routines based upon their individual skill level and age. Audrey Higgins placed 1st in the A-2 Division, Ashley Smith placed 7th in the B-1 division, and Hailey Davis also placed 7th in the B-1 Division. All three of these students qualified for the Championship Meet later this month. Riley Bradley competed in the C-3 division and Emma Meloy competed in the E-1 division.
